BACKUP people. ALWAYS. Great story.
Time-Lapse + Real-Time Footage? Wild.
Russell Houghten created this short, documenting some serious skateboarding and time lapse action. Having done some rotoscoping myself for a couple projects, THIS WOULDVE TAKEN FOREVER.
Well done Russell, well done.
More time-lapse. This one is epic though. Complete shots of auroras, filmed in the fall, winter, and spring of this past year. Ole C. Salomonsen made this fantastic piece.
Like I said, I’m a total sucker for time lapse.
John X. Carey made this short to feature the work of PCI Global (Project Concern International), a nonprofit health and humanitarian aid organization dedicated to preventing disease, improving community health, and promoting sustainable development worldwide. Much of their work is with the world’s most vulnerable children, families and communities.
John, along with his team won CANNES 2011 Young Director Award for this piece, and its definitely something to take a look at.
The greatest speech ever made.
Silent film actor Charlie Chaplin was known for his comedy films, but at the end 1940 film “The Great Dictator” he made this speech, which is argued to be one of the most persuasive in modern history.
This video is that speech along with visuals of present day products, news stories, and stock footage. It’s accompanied by a song by The Album Leaf called Window. These additions make this speech just even that more incredible.
Pedro Sodo was in an out of prison much of his life, but spends his life speaking to students and young people about his journey. Take a few minutes out of your day to watch this compelling piece by Nomadique Media, that shows his life and the life of his family.
It took Shawn Reeder TWO freaking years to make this amazing piece. Worth every second. Shot in Yosemite National Park. Incredible stuff.
I know lots of people are diggin this song lately, but I thought I’d include it on the blog specifically because of the time lapse shots. Pretty awesome music video if you ask me.
The shots with the keywords in the lyrics coming into focus behind Christina is a nice touch.
“Life is extraordinary. Embrace it.”
Phantom camera goodness.
The world is fascinating. People and cultures inspire us. Sadly, the fast paced lifestyles of our generation result in many not taking the necessary step back to soak in the existing world around us. Our goal with this film is to help viewers further appreciate and take notice of the beauty in life & culture that lies within our world…
…so the next time you notice something that strikes you as interesting, stop for a second, start powering on your camera, think about why it’s unique, and snap the shot before you miss it. Life is extraordinary. Embrace it.
